A Japanese Graphic Designer in Singapore

Hi, how’re you doing? This is Otto from Infinite Design Unit, a Japanese freelance Graphic Designer in Singapore. I’m finally starting a blog! Although this is a blog from a design guy, I’m going to talk about more than graphic design. For instance, I want to talk about Japan.
I was born and bred in Japan although I’ve been abroad (Perth, Australia and Singapore) in the past several years. I still like Japanese stuff a lot, from music, culture to TV programs. Also, by living away from Japan for some time, I’ve realized some of the positives and negatives Japan has had. I want to talk about this kinda thing!
And of course, I’ll talk about something related to graphic design, web design and more such as SEO (search engine optimization).
So, make coffee and relax yourself! Hopefully, We’ve got something in common and share it togerher!
Cheers,
P.S. The photo is Merlion, a sort of Singapore’s symbol, I guess.
I love the stuff you do at Infinite Design Unit. I am small business owner in Tokyo. Could you recommend a freelance designer or small design firm over here? I’d love to find something like IDU in Tokyo. Thanks.
Hi, M. Thanks for your comment! Actually, my design partner at Infinite Design Unit, Toshi is currently based in Tokyo, and runs his freelance design business over there, too. I’ll email you his contact detail shortly so that you can get in touch with him. Cheers.
Excellent write up, very interesting read!
Greeting to u Otto-san.
I’m glad to seen ur profile as a designer in Sg. First of all, it will be my privilege to exchange idea with u in a long run. As for me, I used to do graphic (print), web and motion graphic for a couple of years. After then I focus on 3d space design which is what i’m doing now. Dispite doing 3d design which involve many espect of practical analysis and material usage, the base in graphic design and visual communication still come in handly.
Above that, I’ve plans to move to Japan in the near future. So, please give me some advise yeah.
So much for now and let catch up ya. have a great week ahead.
Jacky from Singapore.
Hi, Jacky,
Thank you for your comment! 3d design is something I’m not familiar, but seems interesting. I guess experiences from graphic design surely come in handy.
Are you moving to Japan to work? Japan’s design culture is quite unique. It’s something different from other leading Western countries. There’s a lot of influences from traditional Japanese cultures, I guess.
Anyway, thank you for your comment. I’ll try to update this blog regularly, but can’t really find a direction. I may change the design first.
