Japanese Geometric and Crests Designs (for webs)

In my last entry, I introduced Japanese websites that have downloadable geometric and crests designs in vector (EPS) format.
Today, I’m going to follow up with some latest findings from authentic Japanese geometric and crests design websites (no English pages, though). This time, however, isn’t vector format. They’re all .gif files, so mainly for webs. Probably best used for background images on websites.
The geometric images above are from Komon-ya (link to top page). They’ve got nice collection of traditional geometric images. FYI, the image shown here is found on here.
And, here comes crests. We call them “Mon” in Japanese, “Kamon (family symbols)” being probably the best known.
The crests images above are from Otomiya (link to top page). They’ve got quite huge collection of crests images. You can see the images shown here on this page.
By the way, as a Japanese myself, I’m familiar with these traditional designs from my country but didn’t really appreciate them while I was in Japan. I (and many of Japanese) tend to look outside Japan, but having spent past several years away from Japan, I’ve realized that we’ve got something very special.
Hope you enjoy those Japanese geometric and crests designs.

Very cool. I’m going to look around more (I live in Japan) for some examples of these designs.
